WHO DAY - 8th April 2018

CME On WHO Day Theme “Universal health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere BE ACTIVE! Regular Exercise and Physical Activity.” was organized at IMA House, Haji Ali. Dr. Shehla Shaikh spoke on “What after Metformin?” Dr. Kshitij Joshi spoke on “Lung Cancer, Dr. Ashay Karpe spoke on “Early diagnosis of cancer and management-Role of Physician” and Dr. Gaurav Thukral spoke on “ICU of Future is ICU at Home”.

ASTHMA DAY – PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME - 8th May 2018

Chairman Dr. Anil Pachnekar organized Asthma Day, public awareness programme at 90 feet Road, Dharavi. President Dr. Salim Sachani, Hon. Secretary Dr. Sujatunnisa Attar, IMA MS President Elect Dr. Hoize Kapadia, Dr. Rajendra H. Trivedi, and Dr. H. S. Shingan attended the programme. It started with a magic show followed by lectures on awareness of Asthma. President Dr. Salim Sachani, welcomed the audience. Hon. Secretary Dr. Sujatunnisa Attar elaborated on the activities of IMA Mumbai. Chairman Dr. Anil Pachnekar, Dr. H. S. Shingan and Dr. Sanjeev Khosla spoke on Asthma. More than 1000 general public were present.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY - 31st MAY 2018

World No Tobacco Day was observed by IMA Mumbai branch by organizing “street plays” to educate the general public about the hazards of consumption of tobacco and tobacco related products. Street Plays were performed at 2 different venues: 1) “F” South, in front of Kirti Mahal Hotel, Parel, Mumbai – 12. 2) Bhagat Singh Maidan Kalachowki.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY - 26th July 2018

Women Doctors Wing Subcommittee of our branch organized programme on “Environment Day” on Thursday 26th July 2018 at Gujrati High School at Kurla west. 100 Tulsi Plant were distributed to 4th standard students. There was a talk by Dr. Prabha Shinde on importance of Tulsi plant. President Elect Dr. Prakash Borana, Dr. Pragji Vaja, Lions club Mr. Daljit Singh, principal of school and trustee of the school graced the occasion. It was appreciated by one and all.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY - 24th June 2018

A unique programme on Yoga on the occasion of “International Yoga Day” was organized at IMA House. A very Interactive “Yoga Workshop” was conducted by Yoga Gurus. More than 50 of our enthusiastic members participated. Every Sunday yoga session is conducted for our members by our own yoga guru Dr. Kishor Gandecha.

DOCTORS’ DAY -

1st July 2018

CME on Doctors Day was organized. More than 110 members participated. Eminent speakers Dr. Nishant Aditya gave a talk on “Neurological disease and management of stroke” and Dr. Piya Ballani spoke on “DPP4 inhibitors: top 10 things on a clinician’s mind” followed by felicitation of eminent doctors with ‘Distinguished Doctors’ Award: Padmashree Dr. Amit Maydeo, Dr. Rekha Daver, Dr. Anil Bhoraskar and Dr. Nandita Palshethkar. The prestigious “Dr. H.M. Shah Life Time Achievement Award” was conferred on Dr. Kaizer Barot.

We had Monsoon Marathon 2018 at Mahalaxmi Race Course at 7.00 am to improve the vital capacities of our members. More than 80 members actively participated.

BLOOD DONATION DRIVE -

29th June 2018

IMA Mumbai Branch Haji Ali conducted Blood donation drive at Abbott Pharma BKC total 304 units of blood was collected.

3rd July 2018
On the occasion of Doctors Day a Blood Donation camp was organized at Dadar Railway Station and Ghatkopar Railway Station. Despite derailment of local railway services due to heavy rains 42 donors at Dadar & 35 donors at Ghatkopar Railway Station donated blood. A Total 77 unit of blood was collected. President Dr. Salim Sachani inaugurated the camp along with Chairperson Dr. Pragji Vaja. Total 458 bottles were collected.

WORLD EYE DONATION DAY -

16th September 2018

On the occasion of world Eye Donation Day, Public Awareness & free Eye check up camp was organized by IMA Mumbai Branch at Ganpati Mandal, Navjivan Society on Friday 16th September 2018 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Total 118 patient were examined. A talk was given on importance of Eye donation.

Dr. Hetan Shah spoke on “Hypertension Treatment: Before, During & After Pregnancy”, Dr. Nimit Shah spoke on “Chronic Stable Angina : Optimal Medical Management”, Dr. V. T. Shah spoke on “Chronic Stable Angina: Role of Interventions” Dr. Amit Sanghvi spoke on “When and How to interrupt Anti-Platelet Drugs”, Dr. Ashish Contractor spoke on “Cardiac Rehabilitation in Chronic Heart Failure” and Dr. Kaushal Chhatrapati spoke on ““Loosing is Winning” in Weight Loss: Cardiologist Perspective”. “More than 120 members attended this CME.

15th August 2018

Independence Day was celebrated at IMA House Haji Ali. The Flag Hoisting of the National Tricolor was done at 9.00 am sharp by the President Dr. Salim Sachani. Many members attended the programme.

21st October 2018

CME on "Geriatric” was organized at IMA House, Haji Ali. Dr. Shayaz Ali Ashiq Ali Siddique spoke on “Essential Important Investigations in Elderly”, Dr. Yusuf Matcheswalla spoke on “Dementia, Depression & Delirium”, Dr. Rahul Shah spoke on “Orthopedic Problems in Elderly” Dr. Bhavesh Vora spoke on “Ageing & Kidney”, and Dr. Kusum Doshi spoke on “Assisted Living”. More than 120 members attended this CME.

28th October 2018
A Senior citizens WALKATHON on Worli Sea Face, started at 7.00 am from the common man statue- (flora restaurant outlet) to convulge at Worli Sea face walker’s garden. At Bhagwan Gautam Buddha Garden there was laughter exercises, excellent lecture on Yoga and “Yogic Exercises” were demonstrated by Yoga Guru Dr. Kishor Gandecha followed by mutual interactions about health between the senior citizens and the health professionals. Placards exhibiting purposeful slogans were displayed. Speeches were delivered by our President Dr. Salim Sachani and senior members Dr. Ramesh Shah, Dr. Kishor Gandecha. Sumptious refreshments were served. More than 150 members attended the walkathon.

2nd December 2018

CME on “World AIDS Day” was organized at IMA House, Haji Ali. Dr. Mala Kaneria spoke on “Clinical aspects of AIDS”, Mr. Sahil Bansal spoke on “Avoidance of mistakes in filing of Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT) under section 285BA of the Income – Tax Act, 1961” Dr. Pritam Kataria spoke on “Lung Cancer Awareness”, Dr. Jyotsna Zope spoke on “Chronic Kidney Disease from Nephrologist Desk” and Dr. A. R. Pazare spoke on “Current management of AIDS”. More than 62 members attended this CME.

REPUBLIC DAY -

26th January 2019

Republic Day was celebrated by holding Flag Hoisting Ceremony at IMA grounds. Flag salutation was done by our President Dr. Salim Sachani. On that occasion Dr. Salim Sachani, Dr. Hozie Kapadia and Dr. Anil Pachnekar gave some patriotic advice. Dr. Ramesh C. Shah recited a patriotic poem written by himself.
